Training and professional development

The key focus for all staff is to find the best solution for you. The clinic is able to offer products from all of the main hearing care manufacturers, allowing us to meet the goal of finding the correct solution for all clientele.

The audiologists regularly attend professional development sessions to learn more about developments in hearing technology and the latest hearing aids being produced.

The team consists of four qualified Audiologists and two administration staff, all striving to offer the best service to all.

A qualified audiologist is a health care professional with postgraduate university qualifications in audiology or equivalent training, and a minimum of 12 months supervised clinical practice.

Audiologists have an extensive scope of expertise in all non-medical areas of hearing services, such as:
  • comprehensive hearing assessments and rehabilitation of hearing impairment including prescription,
  • fitting and managing hearing aids and assistive listening devices,
  • impression-taking for custom made ear pieces,
  • the assessing and teaching of Tinnitus,
  • and offering hearing therapy services.
You do not need a referral to be seen by an audiologist, just contact us to arrange a consultation.

The audiologists of the Courtenay Hearing Centre hold certifications and memberships from:
  • New Zealand Audiological Society
  • Audiological Society of Australia
  • Tinnitus Retaining Therapy
